Alright guys, before I go into detail on this next place, I want to make something known. I KNOW I have a weird obsession with breakfast places and mimosas, so fair warning, here comes another one!

Citrus in Virginia Beach, Virginia serves breakfast, lunch, and their own menu of mimosas. This is one of my favorite spots to go to, so much so that I celebrated my 21st birthday here getting, of course, a few mimosas!

I generally get the same entree when I go, the eggs benedict. They’ve won awards on that entree alone, if that tells you anything! My girlfriend loves the pulled pork sandwich and will usually get that. Their mimosas are some of the best I’ve had, and you really can’t go wrong with any of the options they have.

This is a great place, especially in the summer when you can enjoy the outside seating they have! There is a cornhole board outside in the waiting area and is a great way to pass the time if there’s a wait. This spot is great for family outings, hanging out with friends, and is a cute breakfast date spot!

I highly recommend this place, especially because there are two locations that you can enjoy if you can’t get into the other. You HAVE to go to Citrus, and I know you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you guys, see you again next week!

As I sit here and reflect on the incredible journeys 2017 has brought me, I can’t help but start thinking about what 2018 will bring!!

I’ve had an obsession with traveling, exploring, and discovering since I was a little kid, and the obsession has only GROWN!

A few months ago I created this web site with the hope to find really great places and share them for other people to enjoy, and I never expected it to evolve in the way that it has and become what it was CREATED to be: the site and RESOURCE people use to find the places they HAVE to go to while in a city! It really is a dream come true, and the expansion projected for next year is challenging but it’s going to be well worth it!

Here is SOME of what 2018 has in store, and what you guys can be looking forward to:

-New York City, New York

-Boston, Massachusetts

-South Carolina (Inman area)

-North Carolina (Kill Devil Hills area)

-Richmond, Virginia

-And possibly Memphis, Tennessee; Las Vegas, Nevada; parts of California

I hope to hear from you all about where you want to see featured in some of these places, or other cities you want me to explore! As always, feel free to email me at or comment on this post! Thank you all for your love and support this year!

Here’s to 2018! See you guys next YEAR, thank you!

Bay Local

One morning while trying to find parking for a breakfast location down the street, I stumbled upon this restaurant. Immediately I was fascinated by the ceiling that I saw while I was walking by. (Not usually what your first impression is based off of, but hey.) I saw this place was packed with people and I KNEW I needed to come in and see what the buzz was about!

I woke up early one morning to check this place out before the crowd came in, and I’m so glad I did! “What is this place?” you’re probably asking by now. Bay Local in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This breakfast/brunch/dinner restaurant is one for the books. Between their delicious food menu, their incredible drink options, and the overall appeal and atmosphere of the restaurant and staff, they leave little to dislike.

This place is great because all of their food is sourced locally from the bay and from the farmers around. I would consider it a very locals spot (which is what they were going for, hence the name.) They have daily specials, and drink specials that change with the day. Pictured below are two of the brunch options they had on their daily specials, that were so good! I ate the eggs benedict (my usual go-to) with parmesan garlic tater tots. Yes I said parmesan garlic tater tots! YUM. I also had a strawberry sorbet mimosa. Double YUM.

When you come here you will get great service, delicious food, tasty drinks, and a super homey aesthetic that all combines into a really great experience. In short, you HAVE to go to Local Bay! | 2917 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451

Tupelo Honey Cafe

Tupelo Honey is a southern restaurant with several different locations throughout Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Colorado. I had the pleasure of dining at the Virginia Beach, Virginia location and I will DEFINITELY be returning!

Everything you look for in a restaurant, they have; a comfortable dining experience, great hospitality, an incredible selection of music, delicious food, even better drinks, and a charming atmosphere.

Tupelo uses food from locally sourced farms, and they’re all noted on their website. Great food that was grown responsibly is very important to me as well as sourcing locally, so this place really has it all for me.

They are open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, and have a great happy hour selection during the week. I came during lunch time right at their opening. I ordered the grilled chicken and avocado sandwich with a mixed green salad, and it was delectable. The sandwich had really great flavor, and the white balsamic vinaigrette on the salad was one of the best I’ve had.

I usually caution on the side of drinking before the evening (unless it’s a morning mimosa), but the drink selection they offer was so great that I decided to stay AFTER my meal just to have a seat at the bar and order one of their many options. I ordered the ‘Tupelo Krush’ Frozen Orange Whip drink, and I am so glad I did! It was much better than I anticipated (and I had anticipated it to be GREAT). It’s also on their happy hour list of drinks, so check them out then if you’re skeptical of my opinion (you shouldn’t be.)

If you happen to be in Virginia Beach and are looking for breakfast/lunch/dinner/drinks, you HAVE to go to Tupelo Honey Cafe! | 4501 Main St, Virginia Beach, VA 23462

The Grey Goose

The Grey Goose in downtown Hampton, Virginia is a great spot for lunch, dinner, and brunch (only on Sundays!). This restaurant is owned by Hampton Roads natives, and boy do they do it well.

Not only do the have really great dine-in food options (see brunch pictures below; those plates were clean in minutes!), they have great entertainment and family events. December 9th and 16th you can have breakfast with Santa! If you have kids, this would be a great outing and something to have them look forward to! They are also having “dinnertainment” called “A Christmas Story” on December 9, 10, 16 and 17. Times vary for both Christmas outing options so be sure to call and confirm and make a reservation!

Most restaurants offer catering options, and The Grey Goose is no different. Thanksgiving is no different, and they offer the whole spread! (I️ included a picture of the options so everyone can take advantage!)

Holidays aren’t the only special events they cater for though, they offer baking for celebrations. They offer an incredible selection of wedding cakes and TONS of options between the type of cake, frosting, and filling! Definitely worth giving a look when the time comes for you.

Not only is this spot as charming on the inside as it is on the out, nothing compares to a restaurant owned and operated by locals (if you haven’t caught that theme from my other posts.) This Hampton, Virginia restaurant is a must see. You HAVE to go to The Grey Goose! | 118 Old Hampton Ln Hampton, Va

Thank you guys, see you again next week!

The Bee and The Biscuit

This week, you HAVE to go to The Bee and The Biscuit! This brunch spot was created in a 1919 house, and has the charm and feel that only a home can create. This is a great location to take your family, friends, AND date to! The entire front lawn is covered in patio tables and chairs where you can lounge at, wait for your table at, or play some of the provided board games at! They also have a tent with a bar underneath that offers some AMAZING drinks (tip: get the manmosas if you’re looking for something strong and delicious). The drink menu changes, but I snapped a pic of the one for this week!

Seating is located in the attached backyard balcony, and all throughout the living room and dining room. This next question is my favorite: “What can I get you to drink?” To which my response is *drum rolls* the mimosa flight! This drink selection is generated randomly by whatever the flavors of the day are. I’ve received a regular orange juice, peach Bellini, prickly pear, blackberry, and cinnamon apple mimosa, ALL delicious! To those who enjoy caffeine drinks, they have an incredible espresso machine behind the bar that I’ve heard can’t be beat.

Next is “What can I get you to eat?” You can choose between breakfast or lunch, and you can’t go wrong with either choice. My mom turned me into a benedict fanatic, so I usually choose the JJ’s Eggs Benedict (pictured below). The Little Farm Truck is also pictured below, which is a classic choice.

No matter what food or drink you get, or what company you choose to keep, you HAVE to go to The Bee and The Biscuit! | 1785 Princess Anne Rd Virginia Beach, VA

Thank you guys, and see you again next week!
