Muse Paintbar

Hello again everyone! I had to take a short hiatus to get my sanity caught back up (usual life things), but I’m back and ready to keep going!

This week we have to share with you a really fun place to go, and something to do! This blog is a place for not ONLY great places to eat, but for awesome adventures, pretty places, and just things to do in new cities. That being said, Muse Paintbar has a little bit of everything!

The great thing about this place is that there are so many locations scattered throughout the East Coast (sorry West Coast and Midwest) that this post can be relevant to so many of you! Their locations are in New York, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Rhode Island, and Virginia. The location I went to was in Virginia Beach, VA and was all around great.

SO let me start by explaining the concept. Muse Paintbar is an art studio that offers a selection of drinks and food. If you’re like me and have 0 talent in the visual arts department, do not worry! Artists and teachers lead the class and take you step by step through how to paint really awesome things. Each location offers different nights with different types of designs to paint. While I was browsing through the nights, I came upon one that I just HAD to do! Paint Your Pet night!!

If you’ve read my about me section, know me personally, or have been to my personal Instagram account (@chelseacake), you know I have an English bulldog that I am IN LOVE with! So this paint your pet thing had me written all over it. So I made the reservation, and surprised my girlfriend with this event’s theme.

Here’s the details:

The Muse I went to had different beer, cider, and wine selections (really great ones if you ask me), and a menu of different appetizers and such. We started off settling in with drinks and food, and ordered whatever whenever at the bar. The environment was very laid-back , friendly, and the manager and all of the workers were super nice. Each table has its own artist that helps everyone paint their painting, and there is a leader in front who shows everyone what the steps are and tells you how to do each one. The entire event took a total of 3 hours, but the time passed quickly because it was so fun! I have tons of pictures below of the location I went to, the paintings we did, etc.

So if you’re looking for something fun to do with your friends, your family, or a date, this needs to be on your list. If you’re in one of the states this place is in, I would definitely check it out because you HAVE to go to Muse Paintbar! | 4500 Main St. #105 Virginia Beach, VA

Thank you guys, see you again next week!

As I sit here and reflect on the incredible journeys 2017 has brought me, I can’t help but start thinking about what 2018 will bring!!

I’ve had an obsession with traveling, exploring, and discovering since I was a little kid, and the obsession has only GROWN!

A few months ago I created this web site with the hope to find really great places and share them for other people to enjoy, and I never expected it to evolve in the way that it has and become what it was CREATED to be: the site and RESOURCE people use to find the places they HAVE to go to while in a city! It really is a dream come true, and the expansion projected for next year is challenging but it’s going to be well worth it!

Here is SOME of what 2018 has in store, and what you guys can be looking forward to:

-New York City, New York

-Boston, Massachusetts

-South Carolina (Inman area)

-North Carolina (Kill Devil Hills area)

-Richmond, Virginia

-And possibly Memphis, Tennessee; Las Vegas, Nevada; parts of California

I hope to hear from you all about where you want to see featured in some of these places, or other cities you want me to explore! As always, feel free to email me at or comment on this post! Thank you all for your love and support this year!

Here’s to 2018! See you guys next YEAR, thank you!

Montaña de Oro State Park

Montaña de Oro State Park in Los Osos, California is a must see! This beautiful park is home to several different hiking trails, camping sites, picnic areas, and and some of the most magnificent beaches! Getting to the park is exciting in itself between the tree and cliff lined roads, and the views of the beaches from above.

This park is HUGE, and there is a lot to explore. We spent close to 2 hours at the park and only saw a few of the beaches and walked the Bluff Trail. Along the trail we saw at least two different beaches (both pictured below), and views from the top of cliffs.

Along our journey, we saw a woman staring down a cliff-side in panic, and we found that her dog had fallen down the side and was stuck on a ledge. Dogs are NOT permitted along the trails (they ARE on the campsites), and for this very reason! The rescue team had to come out and save the dog, and fortunately were able to. Please keep your furry friends at home or where they’re permitted so they are remain just that!!

Anyhow, this was one of the most beautiful beaches I have been to yet, and I will be returning to view the rest of the park. (Bonus: entry is FREE!) So, if you’re looking for something to do when in the Los Osos area, you HAVE to go to Montaña de Oro State Park! | 3550 Pecho Valley Road Los Osos, California

Thank you guys, see you again next week!
